Appointments

Our appointments system is scheduled to offer the highest standard of patient care:

  • Early Morning: 07:00 - 08:00 pre-bookable 8 weeks in advance.
  • Routine Appointments: Daily pre-bookable 8 weeks in advance.
  • Same-day Appointments: Each morning our system offers appointments to meet daily demand. From 08:00 onwards, please call 0131 537 4407 or book at reception desk.
  • Emergency - Duty doctor: Each day we operate an emergency surgery for symptoms that cannot wait until the next available routine appointment.  Due to the unpredictable nature of the duty doctor’s day you may have to wait to be seen.  Please be aware that our receptionist will need details of your emergency to allow the doctor to prioritise the surgery.

Drop-in Surgery

A 5 minute appointment in our drop-in surgery between 08:30 - 10:00 is provided Monday to Friday. This will be a first-come first-served system so please be prepared to wait your turn.  As time is limited please do not ask the GPs to deal with multiple problems in this surgery.  This surgery is not pre-bookable.

Automatic Check-In

Rather than wait in a queue at the reception desk, patients who only require to check-in for an appointment can use our automatic check-in screen located to the left of the reception desk.

Telephone Consultations

Each day we offer telephone consultations with a doctor. Please call 0131 537 4407 or book at reception desk.

Advance Bookings

Appointments may be booked up to 8 weeks in advance for a doctor, practice nurse or phlebotomist.  Please call 0131 537 4407 or book at reception desk.

Delays

If you are still sitting in the waiting room 20 minutes after your appointment time, please speak to reception.  Sometimes the doctor is running late as he or she has had to deal with problems that take up more than the allotted appointment time.  Sometimes mistakes are made, so please, speak to us and do not wait too long before asking for an explanation.

Chaperones

If you feel it is appropriate, you may ask your doctor for a chaperone to be present during your consultation or examination.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
