Reception

Our receptionists provide an essential link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries.  They can provide basic information on services and test results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query.  They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, managing financial claims, updating patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.

Sometimes the receptionists will ask for some brief information on your current needs, particularly in urgent situations.  Please help them by explaining your needs and they will endeavour to find the best solution to your problem.  They are bound by the same strict rules of confidentiality as the doctors and nurses.  Our receptionists, however, are not medically trained.

There are currently eleven receptionists at the surgery to cover the various areas including the front desk and 'behind the scenes' in the filing/results area.
